Moelis & Company Holdings LLC announced today that Kurt B. Larsen has joined the firm as Managing Partner of the Private Equity Business of Moelis Capital Partners LLC. Mr. Larsen, who has seventeen years of investment experience, will oversee the firm’s private equity business and help build a team to source, evaluate and execute investments that will support the firm’s clients on key strategic transactions.
Mr. Larsen was most recently a Managing Director at Cerberus Capital Management, L.P. where he focused on middle-market private equity and subordinated debt investments across a number of industries. He played an integral role in all aspects of the investment process and actively worked with management teams to deliver value creation.
Prior to Cerberus, Mr. Larsen served as the Managing Partner of Black Diamond Capital Partners, a private equity firm which he founded. Before founding Black Diamond, he was a Principal at Aurora Capital Group, a middle-market private equity firm. Mr. Larsen began his career as an Analyst at Drexel Burnham Lambert.
